The SB 9A I picked up recently is my first real metal working (read oily) machine in the garage. I still do some woodworking and can see this to be a real problem. How do you keep sawdust off the equipment? I would think even the fine, floating in the air type would be trouble.
Thanks, John

I'm more of a wood butcher than wood worker, but I've always had my table saw and other equipment near my lathe. In fact, my metal lathe actually came out of a wood shop and I often cut wood on it to make Lignum Vitae bearings and such. Sawdust has never been more of a problem than any other kind of dust. Just throw a big plastic garbage bag over the lathe when not in use.

Best,
Conrad

I to am a woodworker and I use my metal machines to work with wood
never has been a problem for the machine. That being said oil and grease
may be a problem with the wood, espesially when you go to finish it.

Thanks for the ideas! Thinking about it, I now realize the sawdust isn't going to wreck anything, like grinding dust or whatever.
