I needed to make some nuts to fit the X axis stop groove on my Enco mill/drill. The nut has a trapezoidal cross section. Each side is 15 deg. from square.

I found this vise at Sears and for $45.00 it worked out very well for this light duty job. There are pin detents every 15 deg on the angle slide which is a curved dove tail track. There is also a locking screw on the opposite side the set any angle. The vise can tilt 0 -90 deg.

I just bought one in a 4" version a couple of days ago from Enco. I haven't recieved it yet. http://www.use-enco.com/CGI/INSRIT?PMAKA=328-0139 I used the 20% coupon. Came out to $52. I hope it turns out to be decent quality. I also have a large angle plate for the bigger jobs, but sometimes, you just need to do a small angle job, I thought this would speed it up a little, rather than all the setup required for the plate etc...

I've used my smaller 4" angle vise a lot. It comes in handy for me as it fits [base] into the 6" milling vise jaws easily and I can do the light duty stuff quickly.

I've had the ENCO verson of that vise for over 20 years. I regulary use it on my 15" drill press and for holding details on my bench that I find easier to work on at an angle. I like it because it's light but sturdy.
