Being unable to locate an air cleaner housing locally, I decided to make my own.
An old computer case had just the right metal for the project so sawed up a circle and
two strips to make the part. After a bit of gas torch welding and a bit of fitting and
grinding, it fits nicely and will work out just fine. I found one on E-Bay for $25 or so
but my version was virtually free and along with it came the satisfaction of using some
otherwise useless metal.
I got this Wheel Horse C-160 the other day at the scrappers and it had no air cleaner on it at all.
It runs great and has hydrostatic drive. The air cleaner will get a coat of paint as well as the
rest of the machine shortly. The filter element came from E-Bay under the Stens name.
