Acme taps for the sizes used in machine lead screws are hard to come by, and if you find someone who sells them they tend to be REALLY expensive.

I found this store on ebay, they are UK based but also ship internationally. I'm in no way associated with them, just a satisfied customer.

There prices are very reasonable (much cheaper than most suppliers) and they have many hard to find Acme taps even left hand thread.

Hope this helps!

Good to know. That's the cheapest price I've seen on Acme taps.
I bought a set of collets from RDG Tools. UK to US shipping was less than a week.

Nice pricing but based upon the force required when I tapped a 1-5 ACME through 3" of SAE 660 bearing bronze using a duplex tap I can't imagine how difficult it would be to run a similarly sized single (non-duplex) tap.

I have bought Acme Taps and dies from RGD. They were of good quality any there service was excellent.
