Abrasive stone, what do I want and where to buy?

I did a search but I'm not finding much info on stones. I need to pick up s few for cutting tool touch up and machine smoothing. What do I want and were is the best place to purchase them. Thanks.

To get started with regards to honing toolbits I'd recommend these as they work with both HSS and carbide tools.

You will find the stones needed will vari , overtime your collection will grow. When I was in vokie I had what the shop teacher gave us a 1/2" square India stone brown in color it's been used ALOT and I still have it. A nice assortment of shapes is really nice to have . Look on eBay for them a tapered slip is advisable also. Diamonds are a another addition. You can pickup a few cheap on eBay like u under $2.00 each.
