At one of my less frequent stops at a cabinet shop last week, I saw these two jointers huddled together in the rain.

I felt bad for them and knew something had to be done! I asked the shop foreman what their story was, and he told me they were replaced by a new bigger automated jointer.
Then without any pause or persuasion he asked if I needed them!
They got loaded on a trailer before work a few days later. They are now in line for a refurb, and then on to their new life.
The grey one is an 8" Wallace, and the black one is a 6" Craftsman.
The Wallace will have a permanent home here at "El Rancho Starvo" and the craftsman will be bartered out.

Awesome. And I thought I got a good deal on my 6" Craftsman. I traded a couple boxes of drawer glides which I inherited (my grandfather had picked them up in a surplus deal; I kept one box, enough for decades at the rate I use them) and a little jobsite air compressor. An 8", much less both, for free is incredible!

Very nice. They're easily worth twice what you paid for them.

I had a spare 4" Rockwell jointer so I asked a friend if he'd like it. We were discussing what you could use it for.

Me: "You can cut rabbets with it."

His wife (from the next room): "WHAT?"
