Hello friends am here sharing some knowledge about 3 inch 4 jaw chuck. A 4 jaw chuck is great, it’s almost essential, accessory for any serious lathe worker. It lacks the self entering convenience of the 3- jaw chuck, it has other capabilities. Some things you can do with the 4 jaw are…. You can form rectangular shaped objects, Grip rectangular and other non-cylindrical shapes turning or facing.
Benefits of a 3 jaw are: - Self catering, can hold hex bar stock, quick and easy to use.

yes a 4 jaw chuck is more useful than a 3 jaw chuck. once you get practiced at indicating an item in. It can be almost as fast as a 3 jaw chuck and more accurate, practice with a 4 jaw whenever possible and you will find out how easy and useful it can be.

never tried 2 chuck keys, but don't let that violate the prime ruls about leaving a key in the chuck unattended. bill

Yep, I use one often, but I find hex likes the 3 jaw better than the 4 jaw.
