Is the 1957 model 11 inch lathe compound the same as that used on the 10 inch lathes? Also, were some compounds made with the front lip screwed down with 4 or 5 allen head cap screws, or is this a common repair for a broken one? I'm looking at one and it has that "feature", but I've seen pictures of others that appear to have the same thing. I haven't seen it in person so not sure if its had the lip broken off and been repaired. Thanks for any input! Al

Hey Al,

What is the machine you are inquiring about?

I've got a 11" Logan model 917 and there are no screws used in the compound.

Al, I had a 1957. I don't remember any cap screws in the compound....unless your talking about the gib adjusting screws. I don't know if the compounds interchange or not, but I'm sure the guys on the Logan forum could answer that question for you.

Chuck
