1/2-60 and 6/16-40 Dies

I came by these. Anyone know what they would be used for besides the obvious? Who would want them?

Dunno about the 1/2-60, but the 40 pitch might be useable for a homemade micrometer or micrometer-like tool. PS - was 6/16 a typo?

6/16 would be 3/8" are you shure it isn't 5/16"
