Moving a small to medium sized piece of equipment?

I had a chance to use a set of these Roll-a-lift dolly's. WOW. Made it almost effortless to move my almost 2700 pound lathe, while keeping the bottom just off the floor. I wish I would have had access to these before I tipped my lathe!

    Heavy iron rolling in

It's been a while since I've posted anything. Frankly been to busy to, moved and been working hard to get everything built up and in it's place. Well, it's been a lot of work in a short timeframe. Poured the floor, got the walls insulated and drywalled, finally rolled everything in, in about a...

Moving Bolton AT750 with 1 or 2 People?

I have a very short-notice opportunity to get a Bolton AT750 for next to nothing, but I have to pick it up in two days, and may have just myself and an older friend to move it. I looked at the parts breakdown, and I'm guessing disassembly is the way to go; a practical question to any AT750...

    Moving A 3 In 1 Machine

Hi All, I'm hoping to buy a 1996 Shop Task 1720 xmtc for $400. I can't seem to find any manual or tips regarding lifting it. Can I use straps around the mill and a engine lift to move it into my truck? What should I disassemble before moving it? Thanks everyone in advance.

Abf Relocube To Move A Mill? Other Similar Options?

It's a Clausing FV1 ~ 3,040 lbs, 54"x 68" X 86"high and I'd rotate the head 180 degrees to reduce CG a little. Thoughts? No floor tie-downs per this YouTube ~ $600 for the cube. Still have to check, but I'm pretty sure I'm 500# over what a lift gate can do without breaking down the mill...

[Grinder] The Story Of The Grinder That Hitched A Ride With Me

Well, sort of... A few weeks ago, when I was making preparations to move my newly acquired Mill from the dealer to my newly forming machine shop, I figured I would troll Craigslist and see if there were any good deals on other machines. After all, if I was renting a truck I might as well fill...

How To Assemble A Milling Machine In A Low Ceiling Basement

I continue the story of the RB-1 mill from Here. I figured I would start a new thread on this as it is a new phase of the project. It took the better part of two days to get the mill and the grinder into the basement, now to reassemble them... The problem is, the ceiling is too low to rig the...
