Maybe another one

This one looked like it had fallen on it's side.
The saddle was cracked.
The cover for the head was broken off.
Some of the gears were broken.
Guy told me it was bought new and he didn't think it was ever used.
It looked like it still had cosmoline all over it.

I don't know what the parts situation is with Sheldon's but it's probably no better than with most of the other older US built machines. If the machine is actually unused because someone turned it over on its side, it would be a source of a lot of new instead of used parts. If it happens to be the same model as your first one, you could put your saddle and headstock cover on it and replace the broken gears and have a new machine.

I know it could probably be parted out. Looks like lots of the parts were damaged in the fall.
Was told it fell on the back side, so looks like the front side might be ok.
The handles on the saddle were all bent, so I don't know if it also fell on the front.
It's a larger model than the other one I got.
Doesn't look like anything will interchange.
I would have liked to part it out, but it was a "must take all" kind of deal.
I'll see if it's still there on Sunday, and talk to them about taking parts off.

OK. If it isn't from the same model family as the one that you already have, then most of it is of no value to you. And no one is likely to speak up saying that they need a part or parts off of it if they don't know the model.

I'm not sure yet if I can just take parts from it.
I hope to find out this Sunday.
If I can, I will post the model number and what parts I have.
No sence posting anything if I can't get anything.

Don't let him scrap it if you can, I have a Sheldon 13" cat# TE 1236 p that some month will be refurbished but on the yahoo Sheldon group folks are always looking for spare parts. If you could get the mod # and a pic would be good if you could get it cheep sell parts .

If I lived in the lower 48, it would not be a problem.
Being on an island, shipping is a problem.
I'll try and find out tomorrow anyway.

Went back today. Lathe was gone. Hope someone got it and it was not thrown away.
