Wanted to buy motor pulley or motor with pulley as well as the rear and mid belt guard assemblies for the clausing 8520 or 8530 style milling machine.

Hello and welcome R_Lloyd:
I saw a post on here a few weeks ago where a member bought a Clausing mill that was going to be parted out.
I have not been able to find the posting though. Not much help, but i will edit in the posting if i find it.

Gentlemen, a couple of similar posts offering 8530 parts for sale were removed, along with the person who posted them due to his blatant disregard for forum rules. His posts offering items for sale were not in the 'for sale' area, the only place where such ads are allowed. Premium or supporting members can post as many for sale ads there as they wish for free, but this fellow decided to side step the rules and post in other forum areas. Additionally, he was implementing his own 'policies' about how his sales would take place because he did not want to be bothered by 'tire kickers' and people 'wanting something for nothing'.

Wanted ads are free for all members, but for sale ads are not.

Hi Terry: When i saw the posting for the Clausing parts i wondered why they were not listed in the classified section.
Thanks for the clarification.

You are most welcome. For a mere $20 tax deductible donation, he could have become a premium member. This would have allowed him as many free for sale ads as he wanted for a whole year, plus he would have seen fewer ads on his own screen.

The sad part is that now R_Lloyd is missing out on a possible source for the parts he needs. Situations like this are exactly why staff members frequently encourage people to read and familiarize themselves with the forum rules.

Getting back to what I was originally going to say when I first saw this thread: R_Lloyd, you may have difficulty finding the middle belt guard, as they were optional equipment and were quite rare. The rear guards seem to be prone to damage as we seem to see people looking for them on a somewhat regular basis. Good luck in your search!

As for the motor pulley, I see that you have already considered making a new one, as posted in a previous thread. That might be your best option.

One other option that you may not have considered is to replace the motor with a treadmill motor or with a three phase motor and a variable frequency drive (VFD). Either way would give you variable speed and greater flexibility in use and would largely negate the need for a two step pulley on the motor.

Thanks will keep this in mind but trying to go the original route for now
