I finally ordered a qctp for my 10" Logan. I found the best price on Amazon, $197 and change shipped. Amazon listed it as sold by KDPro Tools, which is in AZ - the price on their site is about the same. I was surprised to find an MSC box on the porch today. It was the toolpost, from MSC, with MSC packing list and catalog, nothing saying KDPro on it anywhere. It shipped yesterday, and I got it today (SW Colorado), so it likely didn't come from NY like the shipping label indicated. The companies obviously have some sort of relationship, but I found it odd because MSC lists the same set for $549. I'm not at all complaining, just found it interesting.

Look at the relationship between Zoro and W.W. Grainger. Amazing... You can get the same stuff from the same place for less. It is definitely worth shopping around...

Yup, Zoro is owned by Grainger. I buy from Zoro a lot, Grainger, only twice in my life. Grainger caters to businesses & manufacturers, they don't care about the small guys. Zoro is way cheaper than Grainger for the same product but Zoro doesn't carry everything that Grainger does. Zoro's search engine sucks but that's not relevant.

Kind of like how Enco & MSC was. Now that Enco is gone, MSC is trying to pick that part up, doing a lot better but still won't ever be the same as Enco. I could be wrong & I hope so. I rarely bought from MSC when Enco was around. But now I do as my local MSC is doing a pretty good job at making me happy with pricing.

Lots of 3rd party vendors on Amazon that drop ship or sell old or acquired inventory so no surprise on you QCTP. I buy a lot from Amazon but because of all those 3rd party sellers, I try to only buy if it's fullfilled on by Amazon. Not that I won't buy from 3rd party sellers on Amazon as I have but you really have to do your research when buying from them. Looking at their feedback is a must. There are a lot of sellers registering on Amazon who are scammers, no feedback & often they get deleted. Also have to research on where the item ships from, many times they try to hide where it ships from more often with the sellers that are overseas. I hate that Amazon is starting to allow anyone sell used parts now.

It's happening on ebay too. Since vendors can ship their inventory to Amazon to be sold, shipped, processed, whatever. There are ebay sellers where you buy stuff & it gets delivered by Amazon. Not necessarily a bad thing but just saying.

Also could be that kdpro has an account with a decent discount at MSC. After MSC shut down Enco, they gave Enco customers fairly decent discounts, especially on the import stuff like Phase II and Interstate.

Wow, enco is gone? I did not know that. I guess it's been awhile since I ordered from them. Now come to think about it I haven't gotten a sale catalog from them in awhile.

Yeah, closed late August 2016. Emails were sent out to merge your Enco account with MSC which gave you much better prices from MSC but still not on par with Enco's prices & deals.

Yup, I used to order from enco, they always seemed to have better prices. And when the monthly sale flyer came out good deals could be had.
