Who wants to loan me a Starrett Machinist's Level? :D

(I'm serious but I doubt I'll have any offers.)

Amazon 8" Starrett 8" $ 135.00 you'll have it for years

Yep, and maybe use it twice. :D

Although if I owned one I'd probably use it like I'm supposed to after taking heavy cuts but it's only a 6" lathe.

Well, it's not a Starrett, but I do have a nice twelve inch long Polish "master precision level" that claims a sensitivity of .0005"/ft.

You can borrow it if you want - hit me with a PM, or give a call to the shop 650-493-2131 and we can give it a go.

Usually nothing wrong with Polish tools. I use Bison chucks all the time.

A level is a good thing to have. You'll need to periodically check the level as it will take some time to stabilize after installation. It'll probably change over time with the seasons as well.

PG,
I'm close in central Illinois and have 2 Starrett (I think) machinist levels.
One was my dad's and the other I got at auction cheap.
I could loan you one for shipping cost or maybe work a deal to sell you the one I bought (came in a flat of stuff I bought).
PM me if still needing one.
