Hey y'all,

if all goes well I'm dragging this lathe home tomorrow and will post lots of pictures. Curious if anyone out there knows anything about these lathes. Some internet searching is coming up with very little info. Ive found they are from yakima Washington. All pictures and youtube videos I've found show a model B40 which all look little different than this one. Its a gear head lathe, 16'' swing, looks to be in decent shape.

Please feel free to respond with anything you have ever seen in regards to these lathes

comes with the original instructions and parts manual which will hopefully be very detailed for me.

That's a lot of lathe! :encourage:

Don't know anything about them, but Yakima , WA is sure not someplace I would have expected to see machine tools built. Farm equipment, yeah, but machine tools? Learn something new every day.:)

Nice! Looking forward to seeing more pictures when you get it home. I like original literature.
Cheers

Nice chunk of iron you have there. That 3-jaw looks huge. Mike

The 3 jaw has an o.d of 16"! It's massive. I think it will swing 23-34" over the bed. Almost have it moved all the way to its resting place. I will post some more pics once I get it cleaned up.

How big a hole is that in the spindle. Looks close to 6".

She's sitting in her spot in the shop for now and hooked up to power. Once the winery grape harvest is over I can rent a forklift again to rearrange some items and get it against a wall.
Wineries have rented every forklift in 100 miles.

All gears run good. Love having the clutch. All feeds work good too.

The ways are pretty bad but the rest of the lathe is so nice I'll need to figure out a good way to re grind and scrape the ways. That will be a big job....

Boy you don't waste any time. Looks great. I guess you won't be wrestling that 3 jaw off by your self:D
