Don't know what forum to put this in so let's try here.

So I managed to scoop up a Grizzly 12x36 G4003G lathe locally and now I'm wrestling with questions about what to do with my accessories from my SB Heavy 10. I don't have the room for two lathes so I figure I'll sell the Heavy 10. I've got some things that I bought for the Heavy 10 that I've never used and now wondering if I should keep them or sell them. One thing is a Royal spring-type live center with MT2 taper. The Grizzly has MT3 tapers. Also, a wedge type AXA Phase-II+ QCTP, though the Grizzly has a BXA piston one. Should I get an MT2/MT3 adapter for the live center? Should I stick with the BXA tool post or would the AXA be OK on a 12x36 machine?

While the MT2-MT3 adapter is not ideal, it will certainly work.. AXA or BXA tool posts will both work on the new lathe. Some prefer the AXA on that lathe. A MT adapter does not cost very much, and is useful for other tooling as well. Try both tool posts out and see which you like best.

When selling a piece of equipment with lots of tooling and accessories it is usually best to take your time and sell all of the tooling and accessories one at a time first. Then sell the main tool. That way you get much more for your tooling, and after all you paid for it one at a time for good money. And it avoids the temptation to throw things in with the deal getting nothing for it.

i have an shars clone axa piston on my 1236 and my 922 Hercus , i have no complaints
