Please Let Us Know If There Are Other Manufacturers

There are many dozens of lathes and mills listed on "Tony lathes". Tony Griffiths(who I have visited in England) has the World's largest site listing machine tools. But,I can guarantee that there will be more makes of machines than you'll want to cope with.

I pulled some names from there, but he literally has a thousand.

Warner Swasey

Mostly turret lathes but worth the online support because they are great old iron automatic machines that can be had for scrap price for a fully functioning manual automatic turret lathe

A couple other names to consider are:
Seneca Falls, makers of lathes from 9" to 16"
Sanford: makers of surface grinders
Startrite: Makers of vertical and horizontal band saws for both wood and metal. I believe they are still made and sold and serviced through Clausing.

Neither Seneca Falls or Sanford are still in business, but there are a number of their machines still in use. There's a Seneca Falls yahoo group, and several posts on the Practical Machinist board about the Sanford grinders.
