I have started stamping things that I make with "USA". Even though I made a jig it's still a time consuming to line up and space the letters properly.

Does anybody know where I can buy or get one made? I have found them online for jewelry making but I doubt that they'd work in steel.

Could you get the 3 stamps, shorten them , make a holder for all 3 ,braze /silversolder together
one strike on holder with appropriate hammer should do the trick , just a thought

Edit , I need one of those myself

you can get stickers from mc master..and custom letter stamps

Hopefully thay don't say made in chi on them stickers, or stamps

You probably could get one of our friends here with a CNC mill to make you one. A2 works well and is easy to heat treat.

The problem with using three letter stamps is that the spacing is too wide. To get it right I have stamped each letter one at a time and shimmed them to the proper spacing.

I did make an inquiry at the custom stamp company for a quote.

However an idea came to me. I could order a U, S, and A stamp from McMaster-Carr. Then grind them down so that the spacing is correct and there is a groove across the front and back. Then make a holder with ridges and set screws to hold them in place.

That would be a lot less expensive - around 90% less than having one custom made.

We had those in the Army for making dog tags. I don't think they'd work well on steel.

Besides, I'm not very likely to spend $1,400 - $1,700 to buy one.
