The bolt holes are front mounting, in the 4 jaw chuck so i could make what you are saying, off course i will need to make another one for the 3 jaw chuck.
How thick the back plate should it be to hold it well?

Thank you for your message.

Your "unknown" lathe is of a type made from around 1910 to 1930 (or so...) . Almost all makers of machine-tools at the time produced something similar and, as with yours, it was not uncommon to find a complete absence of any maker's name or insignia. These unbranded machines were often the result of a major dealer or distributor ordering a large quantity on the understanding that no identification was attached - and he would then add his own screwed or riveted-on badge, often in the form of a bronze casting. These elegant badges make tempting souvenirs - looking for tell-tale holes in the bed might give confirm this. Machine tools were often copied and, if your area had a manufacturer of weaving equipment, it's likely that they would be responsible - even a back-geared and screwcutting lathe is nothing as to the complexities of a powered loom and such lathes made a useful fill-in when other sales slackened.

It's not a lathe I've seen before but, from its general appearance I'd guess that it's German in origin - some German companies using Whitworth threads into the early 1900s - and on larger threads for much longer.

Thank you very much for searching form me my friend, the price i think is for 190mm but my chuck is 200mm so i need lilte over 200mm.I will search to ebay and perhaps i will find some good deal.
To be honest i did not think of searching to ebay for something that heavy cause i though that the shipping cost's will be high, but 14,90 is very logic price.
I still did not manage to go for searching in shops, i think i will eventual find something.
 
I've already send him a question if he could send me a 45 mm length off 210mm and I am waiting for reply.
Unfortunately I do not know German and the translators don't work in item description.
Does he have a max 40kg shipping policy?

Edit: He replied and the cost is 49 euro and 29.9 euro shipping costs so I will try to find something near me.

Today i manage to still some free time away and i decided to follow your suggestion and machined the old back plate.
Because this was my first machining ever i took it veeery slowly and do the lack off lathe tools i just used an index parting tool and made a new reassess to fit my chuck, i ended up with a very tight fit and without any visible play.
Then i transfer the bolt holes from the chuck to the plate, the chuck is a front mount so it was easier.
Then i drill the 8,50 mm holes and when i tried to tap with an M10 tap i could not start it straight so i gave up for today, i just need to make a jig to keep it straight until it starts.

When i finally mout it i will try to make another on for the 3 jaw chuck.

As about the spindle nose i will have to give the old plate to a machinist so he could transfer the hole and the threads to the other stock that i will buy, as i said before in the post my lathe can't thread at the moment.

EDIT: 04/05/2016 I have mounted the 4 jaw chuck and i think everything went well.
Now i need to train my self on centering the work piece!!!

if you measure the spindle nose exactly it is easier to find a backplate
i have some backplates in different sizes i will never use again
if one of them is the right size its yours if you want it
