So I was going to take advantage of the 25% off and Free shipping on a low dollar item, a rubber flex collet for my tapping head. On page 485, the Enco model number 510-2311 is listed at $23.29, I clicked it to add to my cart, when the item got posted, the price went up.

Model# Qty. Availability Low Price Extended Price Delete
510-2311 In Stock $31.48 ea $31.48

When the 25% code is applied, the discounted price is higher than the listed price.

Model# Qty. Availability Low Price Extended Price Delete
510-2311 In Stock
$31.48 ea
$23.61 ea
$23.61
May we also suggest...

Merchandise Total: $31.48
You Save: $7.87
New Total: $23.61

I ordered most of my shop needs from Enco, but this is the first time I paid attention to the listed price shown in the cart, I just made sure the discount is properly applied.

Is this a common practice by Enco?

The catalog is not the current prices because it was created a year ago. You have to look at the Web page for the item which is the price in the cart.

I would expect that their price increase just didn't make it into the on-lone catalog. Their on-line copy of the catalog appears to be a pdf or html copy of the paper catalog and although they lave a link to their product database, the database prices are not linked to the catalog. The have the usual disclaimer in their terms of sale the prices are subject to change without notice, including in their on-line catalog. I have had selected products from the catalog pages and had a reduced price entered into the order. Catalogs are usually out of date before the first copy is delivered.

Confirmed, the prices in the online catalog are in some cases way off from the current prices. I was looking at a sander in the catalog for $768, the actual current price is $1,013. When I called I was told yeah the catalog prices are old 2014 catalog prices.

I actually ordered some longer 6" parallels, and in the "hot deals" catalog I got they were listed cheaper than the total with free shipping and 25% off. However, when I went to find them by name or #, it came back as no records found for this item. Not a big deal - price was pretty much a wash I'd say, but it made me wonder too........

I had problems last night getting the 25% discount, I ordered anyway ,I am going to call them this week ,I'm pretty sure they'll make it right. I see they extended the 25% offer,I tested the same item tonight and the discount applied

I always wondered if they simply jack the prices up ahead of these sales. Pretty soon nobody will buy anything unless they offer a "deal"

Nope. I buy many things from them and wait for the discount . Never seen a price increase between when I pick something out and a couple weeks/months when a discount comes along to purchase the item.

One of the problems, Enco's website is circa 1998...

Agreed. The website is horrendous. Provided your very confident of the items to be purchased (name brand, proven quality etc) its hard to argue with their prices and relatively efficient delivery. The code game is a bit tiresome but I'll admit its a feel good seeing the before and after amounts
