Im expecting my new mill to come in within around the first week of december looking to buy a milling vise. Possibly other milling accesories for a charter oak 12z bed mill.
Ideally would like to find a kurt 5" but they are rare. Open to "decent" import milling vises if the price is right as a holdover until I find vise I want. Lmk what you have and lets see if we can make a deal.
Thanks,
Chris.

Glacern has their 5" on sale for $245. A number of guys here have them and are very happy. List price I over $500 so it looks like a good deal.

If you were looking for an 8 inch I'd have a deal for ya! As I really don't need two.
Take a look at Eron. Japanese made KURT copy. I was very dissatisfied with the no-name Chinese import I had.
I've been pleased with the Eron.
Also, don't necessarily disregard the old stuff.
I use a matched pair of US made of 6inch WW2 relics for longer work. They don't have the flexibility of the KURTs but work well.

I have a Kurt A50. It's old. The only person at Kurt who remembered that model has been there for 38 years. I have taken it apart and cleaned it, but I'm not happy with the way it works. It just doesn't tighten a piece down onto the parallels. Of course, it may be user error.

I have ordered the Glacern 5", as mentioned above. I'll report back!
