This thing is BIG, dwarfs my old 7x12. It arrived late today so all I was able to do is uncrate it and assemble the base. Since there's only 1 lame photo of this saw in grey on the internet here are some better photos.

She weighs 485 lbs.

There's a lot of thick iron on this saw, look at that rib of casting below the large JET logo, that's got to be an inch thick.

Neat and tidy

This vice is huge, must be 20" long.

See that large handle, its huge and cast iron. The depth stop is just as beefy me likes!

Looks like a very nice saw, I think your going to enjoy using that one a lot. Keep us posted after you get it up and running and let us know what you think. Congrats. Bill

Looks like a good one. As Bill above said, will be interested in your review once you've used it awhile. Cheers, Mike

Assembled and wired the RPC, saw, holy crap everything worked on the first try even the motor turns the right direction. Well...after I finished cussing why the saw had no power...then remembered I wired in a breaker to protect the saw...and didn't turn it on DOH! lol

All done! I put it on a mobile base, ShopFox Super Heavy Duty, removed the cast iron caster, installed foot locking urethane wheels so I don't have to reach to the floor to adjust the ShopFox stops.

That is going to be one very useful band saw.
I've been looking at the Griz G9742 which is a smaller and much lower priced 3rd cousin to the Jet.

I gotta ask Coolidge.
Did you win the lottery or something?

Nice looking saw.

What is the gauge adjacent to the tensioner?

Alan the gauge notes the tension. Roadie the day job pays pretty well. :D

Hey the G9742 is up off the floor on a higher stand. My old Turnpro 7x12 was your typical saw very low to the floor, so low almost nobody made a T stand that would adjust low enough for it. I'm looking forward to less bending over to use my saw.

Very nice band saw, a lot of attention to details like the tension gauge and replaceable clamping surfaces. I had previously looked at the manual, they have very nice touches like the chart on the wheel cover which gives recommendations on saw blade and tension for different materials. Just a lot of nice details, of course you pay for it. I did get a laugh when I looked up the list price and then the Jet promotional price which is 30% less then their supposed retail price. I then get a laugh at of MSC and Zoro tools showing the full list retail price and then have "specials" at 25% off, which is higher than most other online vendors. Just find there is a lot of :bs: out there when it comes to pricing and very few real discounts. My wife keeps on telling me to stop complaining about things like your insurance going up at double digit rates per year along, house taxes that have endless bonds attached to the assessment and you name it. I may need to go back to work if I need any other major equipment purchases. Ok sorry to vent, still a sweet band saw and look forward to your review.
