Help !! Anyone have an owners manual of above lathe that might send me a copy ? Thanks Doug

I have a 12x37 sold by Smithy. The mechanicals are identical to the HF and Griz 12x36 but the electricals are somewhat different. The 12x36 machines have four lights/controls on the control panel while the Smithy has three - power on light, inching button, and on-off reset knob. Also the indicators/controls are vertical on the left side of the panel rather than horizontal in the middle of the panel. The spindle on the Griz extends past the surface of the cover for the motor pulleys/threading gear case making it easier to fit a spider for working on gun barrels, etc. I had an HF 12x36 that I did a major cleanup/minor restoration on a couple years back then sold to buy a new Smithy. Shop Fox also has a manual online as do others. The Smithy manual is sadly lacking compared to the others but they are all usable. I haven't looked into the internals of the various electricals.

Thanks Fellows for your prompt replies. I haven't gotten the lathe home yet but previous owner can't find manual. I have found online that you have to change some gears to use all metric thread options on most import lathes. The G4002 Grizzly is very similar I believe but Head Stock may be different as speeds are not the same. I will attempt to send a picture of Head Stock levers and speed chart if an old man can operate a computer.

Grizzly made a 12x37 that was different than the 4002 or 4003 lathes. Look through their list of manuals online for a look at that manual. Might be the same (ish) as yours. 4002/3 headstock is different than your pics.

I know this is late but I have a CD of the frejoth lathe manual. It is identical to my dsl12375th. If you still need it let me know.

Yes sk1nner I would like to have any info on this old lathe. I let a friend have the lathe but I am sure he would want a copy. Any help would be appreciated.
