Theres a local scrapyard in Longview that will sell back to the public.
I left the house early this morning to do some "shopping".
After 20 minutes and $12 dollars I left with this in my trunk!
MAN! I love fridays!
Bring a file with you, if it cuts you are gtg. Even hardened steel can be cut, we used to routinely machine 62 Rc tool steel with dead sharp cemented carbide bits.
don't be too afraid if you get hard steel scrap.
sometimes the hard stuff can be annealed in a firepit or homemade forge , then used in other creations.
i can id a lot metals by sight , weight or smell.
you too, will soon learn the ways of the Jedi.
i feel the force is strong in this one
We had a local scrap yard that used to sell round stock and flat stock real cheap. you could buy the whole bar or just what you needed. They cut it for you and it was cheap. But a couple years ago they stopped selling to the public. I really liked that place cause they had a whole building full of unmolested steel. You could always find what you needed.
